Microsoft Build 2024 broadcast engineering rack and show control station
Live broadcast multiview and Ross switcher setup for Microsoft Build 2024 keynote production

Client Objective

Microsoft Build is one of the highest-visibility events of the year, with keynotes from CEO Satya Nadella and other executives, plus programming designed for both in-room and online audiences. The objective was clear: deliver a broadcast-grade experience that looks polished on camera, fantastic in the room, and stays consistent across a packed show schedule.

Because it’s a hybrid event, everything has to work for the live audience as well as the stream. That means zero surprises with playback, routing, monitoring, or screen management, even when content changes fast and the stakes are high.

Benefits and Results

MeyerPro supported the event’s backend broadcast engineering with a system built for reliability and control. The workflow centered on Ross switching and routing, including a Ross Carbonite Ultra 60 production switcher and Ultrix FR12, plus Carbonite Black 12G for high-bandwidth signal handling. EVS playback systems handled show content and video playback, while a large display ecosystem (100+ displays) ensured the right visuals landed in the right places at the right time.

The end result was a clean, confident show execution that supported keynote storytelling, high-volume content playback, and hybrid distribution without distracting technical hiccups. When the message matters, the production has to feel invisible. The goal is to wow them and make the whole thing seem easy, even though there are an incredible amount of moving parts.
